High energy Japanese-inspired eating house. Tombo Den is a moody, two-level homage to late-night Tokyo, set in the buzzing and eclectic heart of Chapel Street, Windsor. Helmed by Head Chef Dan Chan, the restaurant and sake bar’s offering of small plates delivers a playful, yet considered nod to the Japanese street food classics, with a centrepiece sushi counter and plenty of hero produce cooked over coals.

Opportunity
About the opportunity: Tombo Den is seeking a talented commis chef to join our team. Work with a supportive and passionate team. You will be driven and genuinely passionate about cooking. This is an amazing opportunity to start your culinary journey and learn from the best in the industry. You will be a passionate and a highly energetic hospitality professional.
The Ideal Candidate Must Have
- Experience as a Commis Chef in an a-la-carte restaurant
- Ability to effectively follow instructions and absorb new information
- Japanese cuisine experience highly regarded
- Good communication and immaculate presentation
- A positive attitude, resilient and adaptable to change
- Understanding of Food Safety and OH&S
- Foundation knife skills and understanding of basic cookery terms and techniques
- Attention to detail
- Outstanding time management during preparation and service periods
- Calm and composed demeanour
- Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
- Available to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
