Work Type: Permanent - Part Time (0.7FTE) commencing Term 4, 2025

Warnbro Community High School (WCHS) is located 50 km south of Perth, in the beachside communities of Warnbro and Port Kennedy. The school supports holistic growth and development and aims to improve student outcomes by meeting each student at their point of need.

The Role

Under teacher direction, the Home Economics Assistant will:

- Assist in the delivery of planned education programs
- Operate computers and implement individual or small group programs
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of the learning environment
- Maintain equipment, materials and resources for use in classes, displays and demonstrations
- Aid in the safe storage of items after classes and activities

The successful applicant should have a proactive and positive approach, be able to work autonomously or as part of a team, prioritise tasks, display initiative, and be highly organised and efficient.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
- Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start

- Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills, including interacting with students, parents and teaching professionals
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Demonstrated good organisational skills to support effective education programs
- Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students
