Our Client is seeking several qualified and skilled Industrial Painter/Blasters to join them on a permanent basis. They are a leading engineering contractor specialising in asset preservation and rehabilitation, working across several industries to include Naval Defence and Maritime across Sydney, Perth and Brisbane, Australia.
The ideal Candidate will have experience applying coatings and paint applications, sand-blasting, and performing other tasks relative to industrial coatings.
Job Description
Apply coatings through conventional, airless, and plural spray systems. Mix paints to desired colours and consistencies while adhering to industry standards to undertake the preparation and painting and/or abrasive blasting of various surfaces including structures, components and equipment using a variety of liquid finishes. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure all product is prepared and coated with the correct coating and type of paint.
2. Treat all equipment with respect, return it to its rightful place when not in use and report any defects to your supervisor immediately.
3. Maintain appropriate paint stock inventory in line with business and statutory requirements.
4. Clean, sand, sandblast, scrape, brush, etch and burn surfaces in preparation for spraying.
5. Masking windows, doors and other nearby surfaces and equipment needing protection from spray and removing on completion of job.
6. Dis-assembly and re-assembly of components as required to carry out the painting and blasting functions.
7. Mix materials for proper application.
8. Erect ladders, movable and immovable staging and various other items to gain access to different areas; move furniture and equipment as necessary.
9. Repair surfaces to be sprayed/painted, including plastering and sheetrock finishing.
10. Adjust equipment to maintain proper spray application and clean equipment.
11. Carry out test procedures as required to confirm compliance of work with relevant procedures and standards.
12. Assist in the development and implementation of service standards and procedures to ensure responsiveness to customer needs.
13. Ensure quality of work undertaken is of the highest standard and within tolerances set by the site.
14. Be proactive to assist the Supervisor to create a professional team environment.
15. Work within specified timeframes.
16. Able to inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards.
17. Perform work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment.
18. Ensure that completed tasks meet statutory responsibilities relating to Environmental, Quality and Zero Harm requirements exercising safe work practices with regard for self, others and property.
19. Be vigilant, in conjunction with the Supervisor, in maintaining a clean and tidy workplace in line with Our Client’s housekeeping goals.
Qualifications/Experience
1. Minimum of 3 years Industrial Painting/Blasting experience.
2. IPAF/ Slinger/Signaller/Confined Spaces/Forklift.
3. Ability to work under own initiative.
4. Ability to source information and keep up with new technologies.
5. Committed and dedicated to achieving excellence.

7. Proactive and flexible approach to work.
8. Works with integrity and ethically.
9. Reacts well under pressure and within tight timeframes.
