THE TRUSTEE FOR ASH FAMILY TRUST T/A TIKKA N TANDOOR

As a Cook, the main responsibilities include preparing, cooking, and presenting food in a commercial kitchen environment. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and supporting kitchen operations to provide efficient and cost-effective food service.

Task & Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook, and present food according to menu specifications.
- Ensure all dishes meet customer expectations in terms of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Plan and organise food preparation and cooking activities to ensure efficient service.
- Monitor stock levels of food, ingredients, and supplies, and report to the kitchen supervisor or management.
- Assist in creating new menu items and recipes under the direction of the chef or kitchen manager.
- Check ingredients for freshness and quality before preparation.
- Manage food storage, including proper handling and rotation of stock.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils after use.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards, and use safe work practices.
- Maintain portion control and assist in managing food costs.
- Follow the restaurant's regular cleaning and waste disposal practices.
- Monitor food quality during preparation to ensure consistency and adherence to recipes.
- Assist with the training of junior kitchen staff or apprentices.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
- Maintain accurate records of food preparation, recipes, and inventory.

Qualification & Experience

- Certificate III and Higher
- Minimum 3 year of experience in the related field.
- Strong understanding of Australian brunch cuisine and modern culinary techniques.
- Ability to lead and work within a team under pressure during peak hours.
- Excellent communication, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Availability to work across a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
