We’re currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Gardener to join our team full-time at The Village Swansea, one of our beautiful coastal retirement communities located near Lake Macquarie.

About the Role

Working 38 hours per week, your schedule will be:

- Mondays: 5:30am to 1:36pm – focused on rubbish bin placement and waste management
- Tuesdays to Fridays: 8:00am to 4:06pm – standard gardening and groundskeeping duties

As our Gardener, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our village grounds are safe, clean, and beautifully presented. Your responsibilities will include:

- Performing a variety of gardening tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, mulching, watering and planting
- Undertaking regular maintenance of gardens, lawns, paths, and communal outdoor areas
- Managing rubbish bin placement and waste disposal on Mondays
- Maintaining and safely operating gardening equipment and tools
- Responding to ad hoc maintenance or gardening requests in line with resident needs and village standards

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

- At least 1 year of gardening, groundskeeping, or landscape maintenance experience
- Sound knowledge of horticultural practices and plant care
- The ability to work independently and take initiative to maintain high presentation standards
- A customer-friendly approach and strong interpersonal skills
- Physical capability to undertake manual tasks (up to 15kg lifting)

Experience in residential communities, retirement villages, schools or commercial grounds will be highly regarded.
