The APS 5 Program Support Officer will work within the BMU Team and is responsible to the Business Support Team Leader for the delivery of Unit Security Service and supporting Import/ Export Controls Co Ordination.

The role will require the successful candidate to work within a framework of legislation, Commonwealth polices, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence’s mission and business objectives. We are looking for a capable and flexible person to jump into a range of challenging and rewarding activities.

As a member of the BMU team, you will engage with both internal and external stakeholders, have an opportunity to develop and maintain technical knowledge of relevant procedures and corporate systems and then apply your knowledge and experience.

You will be required to identify/define issues; report on non-conformances; and formalise your findings and deliver through excellent report writing and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate under limited direction on issue management tasks including the coordination of internal and external stakeholders;
- Have a wide range of opportunities to develop their skills in a highly supportive environment.
- Perform moderately complex activities; problem solving and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcomes;
- Assess reports, processes and conformance to meet specified requirements, and provide recommendations for consideration;
- Perform duties of Security Officer, Export Control Officer and as a secondary duty the Emergency Control Warden;
- The work is office based, has regular stakeholder engagements (on and off site), the role is part of the matrix services delivered to the Program Office.

Remuneration: $86,887 - $93,066 + up to 15.4% Superannuation
