Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced and commercially-minded Financial Controller to join our senior leadership team on our site in Minchinbury, NSW.
Job Description
Reporting to the State Manager, the positionincludes the following responsibilities:
- Performing financial analysis of existing business operations and key business drivers to support the decision-making process.
- Analysingexisting underperforming areas in the operation and translate the financial ramifications and opportunities to improve.
- Actively building communication channels across the NSW State Management team to ensure the strategic directions of the business are achieved.
- Broadeningthe business' understanding of challenges and opportunities within the NSW operation.
- Delivering financial forecasts for all NSW profit centres in a timely manner and providing commentary where required.
- Working with local management to convert operating efficiencies into new projects
- Preparing the weekly, monthly and year-end financial results.
- Managing the NSW accounts payable function.
- Assist in developing processes and procedures to mitigate unacceptable risks.
- Proactively looking for opportunities to improve the operations of the state finance team.
- Developing an understanding of key customers commercial terms and be prepared to challenge where required.
- Supporting the CFO and Group Finance Manager with ad hoc projects as required.

- Transport and Logistics Industry Experience
- Bachelors in Accounting or similar
- Sound commercial awareness and knowledge of business strategies to continuously improve
- Ability to interpret financial information and articulate these to non-financial specialists
- Sound knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products. Experience with SAP is also an advantage
- A proven capability to read and understand commercial contracts
- Ability to prepare 3 way financial forecasts
- Capability to leverage existing financial information to provide timely information to management.
