Council of the City of Sydney, Australia Cancer Council Tasmania Full time

Join Australia’s leading cancer charity and help us shape the future of cancer care

About Cancer Council Australia

Cancer Council Australia is the nation’s leading non‑government cancer control organisation, focused on reducing the impact of cancer through research, prevention, and support. We work alongside the community, health professionals, and government to provide trusted information and services to those affected by cancer. With a mission to save lives and create a cancer‑free future, Cancer Council offers a purpose‑driven workplace where everyone can make a meaningful difference to help improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

About the role

The Cancer Navigation Service is a key component of the Australian Government’s Australian Cancer Nursing and Navigation Program (ACNNP). This national initiative is enhancing and expanding Cancer Council’s existing information and support services to provide more timely, equitable, and culturally safe access to information, navigation, and support for anyone impacted by cancer. The project aims to integrate, strengthen, and digitalise navigation pathways, offering new ways for people to connect with support that best meets their needs now and into the future.

We are now seeking an experienced Change Analyst who will play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of the national change strategy for the Cancer Navigation Service at state level. Working within the Program Management Office (PMO) and reporting to the Change Manager, you will collaborate with state‑based delivery teams to coordinate and implement local change management activities that align with the national program strategy.

This role focuses on stakeholder engagement, communication, training coordination, and change readiness support to enable a smooth transition to the new service model. You will act as a key liaison between the central PMO and state‑based teams, ensuring local feedback and risks are captured and addressed.

Key responsibilities include:

- Support planning and execution of change management activities aligned with the national change strategy and roadmap.

- Conduct state‑level change impact and readiness assessments.

- Coordinate communications and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring consistency of messaging.

- Support state‑based training delivery, materials coordination, and feedback collection.

- Monitor change readiness, adoption progress, and risk reporting across multiple sites.

- Maintain accurate records and contribute to change documentation, reporting, and dashboards.

- Foster collaboration across teams and act as a champion for positive change.

About you

You have experience coordinating or supporting change management within a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment ideally in health, government, or digital transformation. You bring:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders.

- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

- Understanding of the Australian healthcare system, preferably within the cancer or digital health space.

- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify and elevate risks effectively.

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a geographically dispersed team.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing clear stakeholder materials.

- Tertiary qualifications in change management, project management, business, health administration, or a related field.

- Accreditation in a recognised change methodology (e.g. Prosci, ADKAR, or equivalent).

- Exposure to federated or multi‑agency delivery environments.

- Commitment to equity, inclusivity, and cultural safety in program delivery.

Our culture

We embrace diversity, celebrate differences and inspire each person to be their authentic self at work. We welcome and actively encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people with a disability, the LGBTQI+ community, mature age workers, as well as parents and carers returning to the workforce.

Why work with us?

At Cancer Council Australia, you don’t just join a team, you join a movement. As a non‑profit organisation, our mission is to prevent cancer, empower patients, and save lives. You’ll benefit from:

- Salary sacrificing options, maximising your take home pay through generous salary packaging benefits.

- Flexible work arrangements and being part of a collaborative and inclusive team.

- Personal and professional development, with great opportunities to grow your skills.
