We are proud to be supporting our client – a respected, multidisciplinary consultancy – in their search for an outstanding Principal Town Planner. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to step into a leadership role where innovation, integrity and impact are at the heart of everything they do.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a pivotal role within the planning team – leading a range of complex and varied projects, while supporting Directors and Senior Principals across planning, project management, business development and broader office initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Independently manage projects of various types and sizes.

- Providing mentorship, guidance and supervision to a growing team of planners

- Liaising with clients, government authorities and consultants with professionalism and ease

- Preparing fee proposals and tender submissions

- Representing the consultancy in client meetings, public forums, hearings and briefings

- Overseeing timing, outputs and budgets while upholding quality assurance standards

- Contributing to business operations, administration and development activities

- Use your awareness of current economic, social and environmental issues.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for a strategic thinker with a collaborative nature – someone who brings both planning expertise and a passion for leadership.

The ideal candidate will have:

- A recognised tertiary qualification in Planning or a related discipline

- Over 10 years of full-time planning experience

- Strong working knowledge of planning legislation, regulation and policy

- Demonstrated experience in project coordination, business management and team leadership

- Eligibility for membership with the Planning Institute of Australia

- A current Driver Licence (preferred, but not essential)

- A proactive attitude, genuine enthusiasm and professional drive
