The Brisbane Building Services team is currently engaged in a broad portfolio of projects, with a strong emphasis on key initiatives in transport, defence, civic infrastructure, and commercial sectors. The team is made up of professionals ranging from graduate engineers to technical directors, offering a rich mix of perspectives and expertise. You’ll benefit from a collaborative environment where diverse ideas thrives and knowledge is shared freely.
The projects you’ll contribute to are high-profile and will have a meaningful impact across Brisbane. The team is committed to sustainability and embraces creative design alongside practical, functional solutions tailored to client needs.
What you’ll do
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be part of a wider network of professional engineers working on both local and national projects. Specific activities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide mechanical design expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects
- Deliver best practice and outcomes for clients, saving on costs and time
- Take lead on small to medium size engineering design projects and support larger projects
- Communicate effectively with all external and internal stakeholders and project teams
- Be a supporting figure and mentor for lesser experienced engineers
- Build solid client relationships and recognize business development opportunities (desirable)
- Represent and promote the business with the local and regional markets
Qualifications
- Hold a recognized Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing mechanical services systems (air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems).
- Have the ability to coordinate and understand relevant building services disciplines, including Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, and Environmentally Sustainable Design.
- Proven project experience in the building services sector across a range of large projects
- Possess a working knowledge of Australian building codes and standards
- Ensure registration (or eligibility for registration) in the professional engineer register of the relevant state for the building/construction industry.
- Demonstrate a history of effectively managing competing priorities, prioritizing work, and meeting tight deadlines.
