The Opportunity

Vocus is hiring We're looking for a talented and driven Senior Software Developer for a 9 month Max-term contract based in our Vic Abbotsford office. This role is responsible for leading the development of our SaaS and network analytics platforms.

This is a high-impact role where you'll design and build scalable software solutions that support network operations, customer platforms, and private wireless systems.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day

- Lead the design and development of backend systems and APIs using Python and MySQL.

- Build real-time dashboards, alert systems, and spatial analytics tools.

- Develop containerized applications with Docker and manage data workflows using Apache Airflow.

- Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies like 5G, IoT, and edge computing.

- Translate business and network requirements into robust technical solutions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, product, and network engineering.

- Provide Level 3 support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Take ownership of software architecture, code quality, and deployment pipelines.

What you’ll bring to this role

- 5+ years in backend software development, real-time analytics systems, and scalable application design

- 3+ years of programming experience in Python or Perl.

- 2+ years of BI/dashboard development using QlikSense. (Preferred)

- Hands‑on experience with Docker, MySQL, and Apache Airflow.

- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and compliance standards.

- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
