About the role

Western Health has an exciting opportunity for experienced and motivated pharmacists to join our talented team as a permanent, full-time Grade 3 Senior Pharmacist – Aseptic & Oncology Manufacturing.

Key responsibilities:

- Manage and coordinate the timely supply of manufactured products for Cancer Services including the Day Oncology Unit, Oncology inpatient wards, and Sunshine Hospital Radiotherapy Centre, while also supporting the preparation of non‑cytotoxic sterile and non‑sterile products for Medical Ambulatory Day Unit and other clinical areas.

- Apply contemporary knowledge in the areas of haematology, oncology, and aseptic practice to support patient care and contribute to clinical decision making.

- Ensure quality and service standards are met by actively participating in manufacturing quality assurance programs, audits, and reporting of variances.

- Manage staff working within manufacturing services (in addition to assisting the Lead Pharmacist – Manufacturing Services) including, but not limited to performance development, management of underperformance, leave management and mandatory training compliance.

- Assist with operational management, including equipment maintenance, stock management, financial oversight, and reporting.

To be successful in this role, you will:

- Provide comprehensive knowledge of aseptic compounding, oncology/haematology pharmacy, and relevant standards/guidelines.

- Demonstrate leadership and staff management skills, including supervision, performance management, and training.

- High‑level problem‑solving, organisational, and time‑management skills to balance competing clinical and operational demands.

- Ability to identify and implement service improvements, quality initiatives, and efficiency measures.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
