Senior Systems Engineer | Permanent Position Your new company

Your new role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll be the technical lead for the Sydney office, providing high-level support, mentoring junior engineers, and driving the design and implementation of customer solutions. You'll work across both project and BAU environments, with a focus on cloud infrastructure, systems optimisation, and solution architecture.

Key responsibilities include:


Scoping and engineering customer solution requirements


Managing cloud and physical infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Hyper-V, VMware)


Performing hardware/software upgrades and backup maintenance


Mentoring junior helpdesk staff


Monitoring and remediating system alerts across AD, RMM, PSA, backups, and security tools


Supporting sales with technical input and quotations


Liaising with vendors and third-party software providers


Creating project documentation and managing change processes


What you'll need to succeed


Proven experience in a Senior Systems Engineer role within an MSP environment


Strong background in either public or private cloud technologies, particularly Azure or AWS


Hands-on experience with virtualisation platforms including Hyper-V and VMware


Demonstrated ability to lead projects end-to-end, with strong design and implementation experience


Experience scoping solutions, especially with Entra ID


A proactive approach to mentoring and supporting junior staff


Excellent troubleshooting skills and a customer-first mindset


Ability to manage multiple priorities across project and BAU work (approx. 60/40 split)


Willingness to travel locally for onsite tasks when required
