Defence Force Recruiting to hire PR officer

The Australian Defence Force’s Defence Force Recruiting agency is in need of a PR officer for the Army, based in Adelaide.

The person will be in charge of a team of PR experts who will be the lead people in bolstering the Army’s image and its role in national defence. They will also guide unit commanders on creating new communication strategies, issues management, and interacting with the media.

The job may also involve secondment to Defence Force headquarters in Canberra or to be embedded with Australian forces on overseas deployment.

Candidates must be Australian citizens who graduated from PR, communications, or journalism courses with at least three years’ relevant work experience. They will be required to undergo the mandated background checks and be of sound physical fitness to finish the ADF’s basic military training program.
