We’re looking for a dynamic and people-focused Manager for our regional Smile Squad team to lead the operations of our regional workforce, ensuring smooth and effective delivery of services to schools across Victoria. Reporting to the Director, School Dental Program Implementation, you’ll oversee four regional hubs and play a pivotal role in maintaining service excellence, supporting our teams, and driving continuous improvement.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage the Smile Squad Regional Team, including Lead Oral Health Therapists and Dental Assistants across four hubs.
- Oversee daily operations, including rostering, workforce planning, and resource allocation to meet service demand.
- Monitor service performance and activity data to ensure targets and productivity goals are achieved.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and professional development for regional team members.

- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders — including community dental agencies, schools, and OHV operational teams — to ensure program success.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive team culture, upholding OHV’s values and commitment to child safety.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in service delivery, operational processes, and data reporting.
About you:
You’re a motivated leader with a strong background in health or operational management and a passion for improving community health outcomes. You bring:
- Proven experience leading and managing distributed or clinical teams in a complex service environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and use insights to improve outcomes.
- A collaborative and solutions-focused approach, able to balance strategic priorities with operational detail.
- High-level communication skills and confidence managing competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Mandatory requirements:
- Qualifications in health, hospital administration, business management, or public health (or equivalent).
- Experience in operational management and team leadership.
- Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel) and understanding of data-driven decision-making.
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence, Working with Children Check, and Police Check.
Why join OHV?
- Play a key role in a flagship statewide public health initiative.
- Lead a supportive, passionate team making a difference to children’s wellbeing every day.
- Be part of a values-driven organisation that fosters collaboration, respect, accountability, and innovation.
- Enjoy flexible work options and ongoing professional development.
Our values guide everything we do:
