Job Description

Scouts SA is seeking a hands-on Corporate Accountant to capture financial results and deliver monthly reporting across the business. This is a key role responsible for preparing accurate and timely month and year-end results, supporting budgeting/forecasting and management of cashflows.

Working closely with business managers and volunteer leaders, the successful applicant will be self-motivated, have strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail, with a continuous improvement mindset. The role offers variety, impact and will take responsibility for maintaining finance systems.

The position is part of the larger finance team dedicated to creating a positive impact for South Australian youth and the wider community. Our culture encourages teamwork in an inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare month end reporting including P&L, Balance Sheetand Cashflow
- Prepare monthly financial analysis and commentary for variances
- Partner with business managers and volunteer leaders on finance processes
- Maintain finance systems (including Oracle NetSuite)
- Support budget and forecasting process for whole of business
- Manage operating cash position
- Prepare investment capture and reporting
- Support AP / AR processing
- Problem solve and provide solutions for financial queries
- Prepare year-end reporting including reconciliations
- Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Monitoring and build-on existing financial controls
- Support financial compliance requirements i.e. GST, FBT

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

- Degree in Commerce/Accounting, with CAANZ/CPA studying or completed desirable
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication , both written and oral, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals
- Experienced in financial reporting and budgeting
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian accounting standards and compliance
- Experience with Finance systems (Oracle NetSuite desirable)
- Independently motivated, with a flexible approach and positive attitude
- Proactive and continuous improvement mindset
- National Police Check
- WWCC
