Your Role

As a Lead Data Scientist in OneData, you’ll contribute to the strategic direction of our data science capability, with GenAI as a core pillar. Reporting to the Advanced Analytics Manager, you’ll lead a high-performing team, drive enterprise-wide AI adoption, and deliver transformational outcomes through deep technical expertise and strong leadership.

What you’ll be doing

- Define and drive the data science strategy aligned with business goals
- Build and lead a team with strong GenAI capabilities
- Establish best practices for ML and GenAI across the organisation
- Oversee the full AI lifecycle, ensuring scalability and reliability
- Champion responsible AI practices including safety and governance
- Partner with senior stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities
- Manage vendor relationships and represent data science in strategic forums
- Stay ahead of emerging AI technologies and foster a culture of innovation

What you’ll bring

- 8+ years in data science, with 3+ years in leadership roles
- Advanced degree (Master’s/PhD) in a relevant field
- Proven success in building and scaling data science teams
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud platforms
- Strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with ML/AI operations, governance, and production systems
- Budget or P&L management experience

Nice to have

- Experience in retail or centralised data teams
- Deep expertise in GenAI strategy and enterprise transformation
- Knowledge of LLM architectures, fine-tuning, and deployment
- Familiarity with Snowflake, Anyscale, Weights & Biases
- Understanding of AI governance and compliance frameworks
- Strong network in the data science and GenAI communities
