This is a five-year contract with the possibility of a further contract and/or extension. Suitable applicants may be considered for other similar vacancies within the next 12 months.

THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) is a leading anti-corruption agency whose primary purpose is to strengthen the integrity of the public sector, reduce corruption and disrupt criminal activity for the benefit of our community.

The Operations directorate is responsible for the Commission's investigations. The two business units, Investigations and Operations Support, work together to proactively identify and investigate allegations of serious misconduct, unexplained wealth and criminal benefits. The focus of the Commission's investigations is on systemic and complex matters, many of which require the use of specialist capabilities.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Covert Surveillance Technical Team Leader is responsible for the management and in-field leadership of the covert technical surveillance team and contributes to the planning and conduct of covert deployments.

The Commission requires applicants to be Australian citizens or be immediately eligible for citizenship, and appointment is conditional on satisfactory completion of a rigorous security clearance process.

- Significant contemporary experience gained as a covert technical surveillance operative in law enforcement, government agency or similar environment.

- Demonstrated substantial knowledge and experience in tactical planning, conduct and coordination of covert technical surveillance teams.

- Knowledge and expertise in the use and application of contemporary, electronic surveillance equipment, IT networking, associated supporting systems and infrastructure.

- A relevant tertiary, industry or trade qualification (or equivalent industry experience) in fields such as electrical, electronics, mechanical engineering, radio communications, information technology, rapid prototyping/machining and covert method of entry.
