Optimising the successful delivery of research outcomes, the Manager of Intellectual Property (IP) and Business Performance oversees the essential support functions of the IP & Business Performance Team. The team is responsible for identifying, protecting, tracking and licensing IP, co-ordinating research contract development and fund management, and supporting data management and project management for research contracts.

This role plays an essential part in enhancing and maintaining DPIRD’s capacity to attract external funds by ensuring quality governance and reporting, while also working across the agency to improve awareness of research and development (R&D) requirements and delivery of integrated solutions.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

- Experience leading a diverse team of specialists to deliver integrated solutions and approaches for the delivery of primary industries R&D outcomes.
- An understanding of the primary industries landscape in WA, and the operation of the R&D ecosystem.
- Prior experience negotiating solutions to complex challenges.
- Substantial experience leading at a senior level the functions of IP management and commercialisation, external funding management, research data capture and project management systems.

This role is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance in each of the above areas.

Employment Conditions and Additional Information

DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency, and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.
