About the role

Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Water and Sewer Directorate. This newly created role focuses on electrical asset maintenance, service delivery optimisation, and renewal project oversight.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage a team focused on electrical asset maintenance of Council's Water and Sewer assets.

2. Enhance service delivery and optimise asset management strategies.

3. Utilise project management skills to oversee renewal and refurbishment projects, ensuring effective resource allocation.

4. Leaseback vehicle / vehicle allowance.

Qualifications

- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field, combined with ongoing professional development.

- Extensive contemporary experience in a leadership capacity driving electrical asset management within a water and/or utility industry.

- Comprehensive experience managing low voltage and high voltage assets, including holding high voltage responsibilities.

- The ability to motivate, lead and support employees and coordinate the activities of a team to achieve outcomes.

- Knowledge of and experience working in Local Government and Water Industry, including the Drinking Water Guidelines, POEO Act, Safe Work Legislation and Australian Standards for Electrical Equipment and Local Government Act.

- Valid Construction General Induction Card – NSW SafeWork or equivalent.

- Current Confined Space Entry Certificate.

- Current Safe Work at Heights Certificate.

- Current HV Network Controllers certification (High Voltage Switching Operations; Certificate IV in Electrical Supply Industry – Network Systems or equivalent).

- Starting salary up to $115.3k per year, with progression opportunities to $133.6k on completion of assessment of skills and performance, plus 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance and 12% superannuation.

- Permanent full‑time role; 9‑day fortnight; hybrid & flexible working conditions (2 days home, 3 days onsite); located at Nexus Business Hub, North Wyong.
