Sydney, Australia Broken Hill Tourist Park Full time

There are currently five part-time positions available, with a minimum of 30 hours per week. Our maintenance and grounds team work across our accommodation properties between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, seven days per week. You would have a rolling roster including weekdays, weekends, and public holiday shifts. Shifts are generally for a minimum of 6 hours, depending on business requirements. The position commences at Level 3 (Gardner grade 2 and Handyperson) under the Hospitality Award (MA000009) with a minimum hourly rate of $26.70 per hour.

These are seasonal positions with two intakes planned for 2026:
- The first intake will commence in late February 2026
- The second intake will commence in early June 2026
Each placement will run for no longer than nine months.

About the Role
Join the Experience Broken Hill team and be part of a friendly, community-driven group that owns and operates some of the region’s most recognised accommodation properties, including Broken Hill Tourist Park, Outback View Holiday Park, and Sturt Motel.

We’re looking for reliable and proactive Grounds and Handy Persons who take pride in maintaining our parks and motel grounds, ensuring every guest enjoys a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

You’ll play a key part in keeping our properties in top condition, performing general maintenance, gardening, and small repair jobs while also assisting with guest experiences and park events.

Key Responsibilities
- General grounds maintenance, mowing, trimming, and watering gardens
- Cleaning BBQ areas, outdoor spaces, guest amenities, and guest facilities
- Performing minor repairs (carpentry, painting, or plumbing as suitable to skills)
- Checking and maintaining park equipment, tools, and vehicles
- Assisting with setup and upkeep of cabins, amenities blocks, and common areas
- Assisting with in-house park events, lighting guest fire pits, and helping with guest BBQs
- Reporting larger maintenance issues to the Maintenance Supervisor and Head of Building
- Supporting the team with occasional handyman or housekeeping tasks when required

About You
- Hands-on, reliable, and takes pride in your work
- Basic maintenance, trade, or gardening experience
- Enjoys interacting with guests and contributing to a positive experience
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with strong attention to detail
- Experience in tourism, hospitality, or property maintenance preferred
