About the Role

SeaLink Sydney is seeking experienced and passionate Masters to take the helm of some of the largest and most prestigious vessels on Sydney Harbour, including the Sydney 2000, The Jackson, Starship Sydney.

As a Master 45m, you will be entrusted with the safe and efficient operation of our premium vessels, delivering unforgettable harbour cruises, events, and transport experiences. You’ll navigate one of the busiest and most dynamic working harbours in the world, and play a critical role in representing SeaLink’s standard of excellence on the water.

Key Responsibilities

- Command the vessel and oversee its daily operations and safe navigation

- Conduct pre-departure checks and routine tests of navigation and control systems

- Ensure all safety equipment is maintained and functional

- Supervise the boarding and disembarkation of passengers

- Lead emergency procedures and safety drills

- Mentor and manage onboard crew members

- Ensure vessel maintenance, cleanliness, and compliance with environmental policies

- Liaise with Cruise Directors and shoreside teams to deliver excellent customer experience

About You

You’ll bring at least 5 years of proven experience operating large commercial vessels—ideally on Sydney Harbour or other high-traffic waterways—demonstrating confident command, strong situational awareness, and a safety-first approach. You take pride in ensuring safe, efficient, and professional vessel operations. With a passion for the marine environment and customer experience, you ensure every journey is smooth, secure, and memorable.
