The Opportunity

Reporting to an experienced Financial Controller, you will step into a commercially focused Finance Manager role with responsibility across financial reporting, taxation compliance, cash flow oversight and leadership of a small transactional finance team. You will business partner to provide timely and accurate information to support decision making and contribute to the financial performance of major construction projects across key sectors including Defence, education, utilities, and commercial infrastructure.

You will be supported through a comprehensive onboarding period, with an expectation that it will take up to twelve months to delve into the business drivers and fully settle into the role. The business is committed to developing talent and fostering career growth.

The Role

- Month end and year-end financial reporting

- Preparation of annual financial statements and coordination of audit requirements

- Tax compliance including BAS, FBT and associated reporting

- Review and oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll

- Cash flow management including close liaison with Project Managers

- High level spreadsheet and analysis work including revenue recognition and forecasting

- Supervision, coaching and development of a small team that does accounting and transactional finance

The Ideal Person

You are likely working in a mid-tier public practice firm and are seeking your first move into industry where you can broaden your commercial exposure.

Alternatively, you may already be in a commercial finance role within a medium sized business.

- CA or CPA qualified with approximately two to three years post qualification experience

- Background in audit or tax strongly regarded

- Strong communication skills and confident to liaise with stakeholders across the business

- Proactive, analytical and motivated to understand the commercial drivers of a large operational business

- Able to thrive in a busy environment including peak reporting periods

Salary / Rate

- Salary from $140k - $150k + Super
