Overview

The Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) invites applications for a Mental Health Clinician (AHP3/RN3). This role provides advanced clinical, educational, and professional mental health services across EFNLHN, primarily within Port Lincoln Hospital Services. The clinician will partner with local services, the Rural and Remote Mental Health Service (RRMHS), and regional stakeholders to provide consultation, liaison, and direct clinical support to improve mental health outcomes for consumers in acute and community settings.

This position is responsible for delivering evidence-based care, mentoring staff, and enhancing the capability of health teams to respond effectively to mental health presentations. The clinician will also contribute to service planning, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives across EFNLHN.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide advanced mental health assessment, intervention, and consultation across hospital and community settings.

- Deliver education, mentoring, and clinical leadership to enhance the skills of staff in managing mental health consumers.

- Facilitate integrated and coordinated care between acute, community, and regional mental health services.

- Support clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

- Contribute to culturally safe and consumer-centred care for all clients, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

About You

You are an experienced and motivated mental health professional who demonstrates leadership, advanced clinical skills, and a commitment to collaborative, recovery-oriented practice.

For Allied Health applicants (AHP3):

- Hold a recognised qualification in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology.

- Eligible for professional membership or registration with the relevant professional body.

- Demonstrated experience providing clinical leadership, education, and mentoring in mental health.

For Nursing applicants (RN3):

- Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

- Hold (or be working toward) a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing (or equivalent).

- Demonstrated experience providing expert clinical mental health nursing care and leadership.

Across both classifications, you will bring:
