Software Engineer – C++ Exchange Connectivity

Where code meets global markets. Do you dream in C++ and get a thrill from seeing your code hum at lightning speed across global markets? My client, a challenger proprietary trading firm, is looking for an Exchange Connectivity Engineer to join their electronic trading team, building the connections that make high‑speed trading possible.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Build and maintain low‑latency connections to trading venues worldwide
- Manage connectivity projects with FIX brokers from start to finish
- Optimise exchange‑facing components to maximise throughput and minimise latency
- Lead exchange upgrade projects and troubleshoot real‑time trading issues
- Work on a mix of long‑term projects and fast‑paced trading challenges

What You’ll Bring

- Expert in C++20 with scripting skills in Python
- Experience on Windows and Linux platforms
- Solid understanding of network protocols and low‑latency systems
- Familiarity with FIX, ITCH, OUCH, FLEX, Arrowhead, JGATE, or OMNET is a plus
- Strong communicator with a genuine interest in financial markets
- A strong academic record in Computer Science
- Existing visa eligibility to live & work in Australia
