What You’ll Do
Satellite Network Engineering team has the responsibility within Optus Satellite for development, technical planning, architecture, design, implementation and operation of Satellite Ground Network, VSAT data and cellular backhaul services in accordance with the objectives and strategy of Optus Satellite.
This role is a technical position within the VSAT, LEO and IP network team. This role has engineering support and operational responsibilities on VSAT platform including engineering support, key customer support/reporting, platform life cycle management, technology validation, network change control and implementation, and escalated fault resolution.
The position holder will have a high level of technical and industry knowledge in satellite communications, VSAT platforms subsystems, IP and cyber security networks with an ability to work with a high level of autonomy under aggressive schedule and stringent reliability requirements. Experience in IP networking, hypervisor, cyber security and Windows/Linux subsystems are desired.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and executing designs for network changes
- Ongoing technical operation, maintenance and support for VSAT and IP subsystems including LEO satellite data network, cellular backhauls, network management system and associated OSS platforms.
- Supporting platform and service life cycle management.
- Provision of technical support to key customers in Australia and New Zealand.
- Coordination of activities and reporting with various cross functional teams at Optus in relation to the Satellite products.
- Supporting integration with RF systems, terrestrial systems and management systems.
