About the opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer. The role will be based at our head office in Mulgrave, with hybrid working available.
Reporting to our Funding and Payroll Manager, this position has the responsibility for ensuring that all the payroll tasks are completed within the strict payroll deadlines. The main responsibilities include: payroll processing, employee payroll profile maintenance, entering new starters, responding to queries, reporting, reconciliations. The role of the Senior Payroll Officer is also to ensure that all the end to end payroll processes are completed by the deadlines to ensure all employees are paid in accordance with the SCHADS Award, within the correct timeframe. Some other key responsibilities in the role will be processing new employee contracts, terminations and variations to employment, answering queries, checking and processing timesheets, award interpretation and more.
About you
We are looking for an experienced payroll officer with well developed interpersonal, negotiation and complaints resolution skills, exceptional written and verbal communication skills and PC literacy especially in excel, you should also have experience working in a fast paced environment.
You will have a can-do attitude and a highly effective decision maker. You will need to be self-motivated, amiable, honest and reliable. You will also need to be comfortable working alone and in a team.
Ideally, you’ll have
- A positive "can do" attitude
- An ability to make effective and efficient decisions
- A proactive attitude and high degree of professionalism and integrity
- Good communication skills – verbal and written
- Strong experience in a similar role
- Experience using 2c9 and an understanding of the SCHADS award will be highly regarded.
Qualifications required
- Current and valid drivers license
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business or accounting
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Working with Children Check (Employee type)
