We are looking for an experienced, motivated Development Director to join the Skate team, with a focus on Live Operations.
You will report to the Development Director II and play a key role in delivering ongoing content, features, and support for our live game.
Location: Hybrid three days a week onsite the studio in Vancouver, Edmonton or Montreal.
Duration: 12 months
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a cross-disciplinary team, including software engineers, Quality Verification, Live Ops Specialists, and other production staff, with a focus on live operations.
• Own the live operations strategy and schedule, ensuring on-time delivery of updates and content while maintaining quality, collaboration, and communication.
• Analyze live game data, KPIs, and player feedback to inform decision-making and optimize the player experience.
• Develop and refine incident response and risk mitigation processes for live service outages or critical issues, ensuring rapid resolution and clear directives.
• Collaborate with producers, product managers, and other stakeholders to drive ongoing player engagement and retention.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through post-mortems and data-driven iteration.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to live service delivery, uptime, and player experience.
• Coordinate with partners and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless live operations.
• Manage resource allocation, budgets, and team capacity to support live operations priorities and long-term objectives.
• Organize and facilitate Agile ceremonies (planning, scrum, sprint retrospectives) to support continuous improvement and delivery.
• Champion a player-first mindset and foster an inclusive, innovative, and growth-oriented team culture.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of project management, production, or team leadership experience in game development, with at least 2 years focused on live game or live service operations.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, resource management, and cross-functional team leadership.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Experience engaging and motivating remote and hybrid teams in an evolving environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Data-driven with the ability to translate analytics and player feedback into actionable strategies.
• Passion for games and delivering outstanding player experiences.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
