About the job

The People Central Adviser acts as a trusted escalation point for complex people queries, working closely with leaders across the business to support performance and behaviour matters. They will also provide frontline support by assisting with inbound calls and queries, helping triage issues, and supporting the People Central Coordinators to ensure a timely and effective response to employee needs.

As part of a growing function, you will also play an active role in improving and simplifying our HR processes and resources to deliver a consistent and scalable employee experience. This includes driving quality control across knowledge articles, templates and enhancing operational efficiency.

We are looking for someone who is solutions-focused, resilient, and passionate about helping people. They will bring generalist HR experience, excellent judgement, and a proactive mindset. They will be confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels and can think critically, solve problems, and coach others to do the same.

About People and Safety

The People and Safety group are focused on ensuring workforce well-being and success through strategies such as talent attraction, diversity, and collaboration, while also prioritising health and safety efforts to prevent harm and promote overall well-being and career development.

Your responsibilities

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

- Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.
- Act as an escalation point for complex people-related queries and provide high-quality advice and support to leaders.
- Coach and mentor leaders to navigate performance and behaviour matters confidently and consistently.
- Maintain and enhance HR knowledge articles, templates, and workflows to ensure consistency and business continuity.
- Seek to continuously improve people processes, systems, and service delivery models.
- Collaborate across teams to support service excellence, maintain strong stakeholder relationships, and drive process simplification.

Your success in this role

- Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, Psychology, Law or equivalent experience.
- Ability to think critically and problem-solve, with the ability to grasp complex concepts and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Intermediate to Advanced HR knowledge and the applicable industrial instruments, with proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office tools.
