Role Our client is a well established hotel group and is looking for a Chef to join their hotel in a regional New South Wales. Responsibilities - Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes as per our standards. - Assist senior chefs in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards. - Execute basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and marinating meats. - Creating menus with flair and innovation having regard to our stock, season and patron preferences. - Ensure patron satisfaction & experience by delivering dishes to expectation. - Monitoring stock level and ordering accordingly to ensure cost-effectiveness. - Monitoring food preservation and rotation to ensure minimal wastage. - Assisting and training kitchen staff in understanding dish preparation and ingredients. - Aiding in the selection and training of kitchen staff. - Managing kitchen staff. - Ensuring health regulations are met at all times by all kitchen and waiting staff. Qualifications - AQF Diploma in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role, or a minimum of 3 years in a similar role. - Superior work ethic. - Ability to work under pressure. - Be a team player. - Enthusiastic "can do" approach. - A friendly and approachable personality is a must. - Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery. - Relevant experience in a premium restaurant/banquet kitchen. - Enthusiasm and creative approach to providing high-quality cuisine. - Demonstrated understanding of Australian food safety and HACCP. - Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required within a rotating roster. - Well presented, punctual and reliable. - Ability to keep your section clean and organized with a good understanding of work flow and structure. - Ability to prioritize and work under pressure. - A passion for quality food and produce accommodation assistance provided.
