About The Role

Thiess invites applicants to apply for the Expressions of interest for Heavy Diesel Fitter positions. We have multiple roles across our NSW Projects located in Singleton and Muswellbrook regions following various rosters. We have Roving field service, Workshop and on-site field service options.

We have several different roster options available to suit your lifestyle.

- 5/4, 5/4, 5/5 Rotating roster
- Mon-Thurs 12 hour Day shift
- 5/2, 4/3 Day shift
- Mon-Fri 10.5 hour Day shift

Various aspects of this role include

Workshop Crew

- Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of large-scale mobile mining equipment including CAT Trucks, Dozers and Graders,and other ancillary equipment as directed in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication, and maintenance systems documentation.

Rebuild Crew

- Work in a brand new rebuild workshop facility with an overhead crane.
- Conducting major rebuilds of the mobile fleet, including;CAT 793 & 789 Trucks, CAT D10 & D11 Dozers, CAT 24M Graders.

Field Crew – Breakdowns

- Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of large-scale mobile mining equipment including;Liebherr 9800, 9350, 996 Excavators & semi-autonomous CAT Drills.
- As well as Terex Drill, CAT Trucks and Dozers and other ancillary equipment as directed in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication, and maintenance systems documentation.
- Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of large-scale mobile mining equipment includingLiebherr 9800, 9350, 996 Excavators & CAT 6250, 6310 Autonomous Drillsas directed in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication, and maintenance systems documentation.
- Completing planned maintenance shutdown work including but not limited to major component change outs, diagnosis and troubleshooting and reliability strategies.

Roving Field Service

Advanced breakdown and failure diagnostics on equipment

Machine overhauls and planned component changes

Mobilisation of fleets into and between our projects

Routine servicing, repair, and maintenance of mobile mining equipment on multiple Thiess and client sites

About You

This position will suit someone who has experience maintaining the following machinery:

Caterpillar tracked and ancillary equipment.

Experience maintaining Liebherr Excavators (not essential but highly regarded)

Position requirements

Trade Certificate as a Plant Mechanic or equivalent

Valid Australian Drivers licence

Valid Australian Citizenship or visa

Post-trade experience in maintenance, diagnosis, component changeouts, and servicing of heavy earth moving equipment.

Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

Any of the following will be highly regarded:

Experience maintaining Liebherr Excavators

Working a heights

MDG25

High Risk Work Licence - WP, DG, LF etc
