City Of Melville, Australia VenuesWest Full time

Salary: Teacher, $85,610 - $124,016 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)

This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026

Brentwood Primary School (PS) is committed to providing a quality education in an inclusive, caring, supportive and stimulating learning environment. Our quality teachers are focused on actively encouraging children to develop the essential knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence necessary for them to succeed in life. A strong emphasis is placed on the pastoral care and behaviour of students, enhancing student achievements in Literacy, Numeracy and also the use of Information and Communication Technologies across the curriculum. The pastoral care program focuses on the core values of respect, caring, responsibility, honesty and excellence. Students achieve well in NAPLAN. The school has adopted a 'continual improvement' philosophy and aims to focus on and address any areas of need in performance or operation that require support.

The Role

Brentwood PS is seeking a dedicated, contemporary and engaging Music Teacher to join our teaching team. As a member of our team, you will ideally be a conscientious, flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole student. You will ideally be actively involved within the school and wider community, being highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation.

Our current music program is led by an outstanding teacher who displays expertise in choral direction and leads both junior and senior choirs. Our choirs proudly perform each year at events such as One Big Voice and the Massed Choir Festival, and we are ideally looking for someone who can continue this tradition with energy and creativity.

You should possess a deep understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and developmentally appropriate music lessons from Pre-Primary to Year 6. Your teaching should reflect best practice, align with whole-school approaches, and support students to achieve their full musical and academic potential.

As part of this role, you will ideally also coordinate our Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) program, which includes Violin, Cello and Classical Guitar. This includes regular communication with students, families and staff, as well as supporting and promoting our established String and Guitar ensembles.

We are looking for a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who can build strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community. A collaborative approach, commitment to ongoing professional growth, and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school are essential.
