Overview

Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. The Wantirna South Campus is seeking a part-time (FTE 0.6) Music teacher for Years 7–10, commencing in 2026. The college offers a quality Christian educational experience with campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, an enrolment of over 2400 students, and 400 staff across both campuses in 2025.

You will have the opportunity to inspire students to explore their musical talents, develop their technical skills, and help them express themselves with confidence and creativity through performance and composition. You will join a community committed to professional growth, collaborative practice, and preparing young people to live out their faith and learning for the sake of others.

Responsibilities

- Teach Music to students in Years 7–10 at the Wantirna South Campus (part-time, FTE 0.6).
- Inspire students to explore musical talents and guide them in developing technical skills in performance and composition.
- Contribute to a culture of creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences.

Qualifications and requirements

- Be a qualified teacher and hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
- Be able to teach Music.
- Have high-level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
- Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
- Be willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities.
