The opportunity
Join GWW in this new role
Day to day you will develop and co‑ordinate communications and engagement strategies, programs and activities across Greater Western Water’s projects and other strategic initiatives, and advocate for great outcomes for our customers and the community.
Working in a high performing Engagement team, the role requires engagement with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and the wider community to build strong relationships and develop clear and concise communication, and engagement materials that are proactive and customer focused.

Responsibilities
- Assist in developing systems and tools to support the delivery & evaluation of best practice engagement practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key community groups and stakeholders.
- Represent GWW at community events and networks, build strong and meaningful relationships, and support smooth and professional event delivery.
- Coordinate communications material for fact sheets, publications, briefings, presentations, advertising copy, brochures, GWW website, other content as required.
- Manage logistics for a range of communications and engagement activities and events, including community information sessions, launches, letterbox drops, corporate events and public and promotional events.
Skills & Experience
- Experience developing and executing community and stakeholder engagement programs and plans that build community capacity and social license to operate, in accordance with IAP2 Core Values.
- Experience in identifying and managing issues that can impact on organisational reputation or in the achieving strategic objectives.
- Confident and articulate verbal and written skills.
- Engaging and proactive approach to people and tasks.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple competing priorities.
- Self‑motivated with a high attention to detail and to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism or related discipline, or equivalent experience required.
- IAP2 certification or similar accreditation.
- At times, this role involves travel across our service region, a current Victorian driver’s licence would be beneficial.
- This role will require the successful candidate to undertake a Working with Children Check (WWCC).
