Location: Shop 13, Great Western Super Centre, Keperra QLD 4054
Position: Accountant (General) – Full-Time
Salary: $77,000 – $81,000 + Superannuation

About the Role
The Accountant will be responsible for managing and analysing financial records, preparing compliance reports, and supporting business decisions through accurate financial insights. This role involves hands-on accounting tasks as well as strategic input to help drive efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
2. Manage accounts payable and receivable, general ledger reconciliations, and payroll functions.
3. Prepare BAS, GST, PAYG, and other statutory returns in compliance with ATO requirements.
4. Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to provide management with strategic insights.
5. Develop, maintain, and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
6. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
7. Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities when required.
8. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and corporate governance requirements.
9. Provide financial reports to management to support decision-making.
10. Advise on cost-reduction strategies and profit improvement opportunities.

Skills & Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in an accounting role.
3. Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation laws.
4. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks).
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly.
7. High attention to detail and accuracy.
