Position Information

Established in 1927, Glen Innes High School is a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school (Years 7–12) located in the picturesque Northern Tablelands of NSW, on the traditional lands of the Ngarrabul People of the Gomaroi Nation. Serving approximately 460 students, with 19% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, the school prides itself on a strong culture of support, inclusion, and community connection.

Glen Innes is a rural town situated at the crossroads of the New England and Gwydir Highways. Its economy is centred around sheep and cattle grazing, renewable energy, and tourism driven by local attractions including World Heritage-listed National Parks, the Australian Standing Stones, and popular annual events such as the Celtic Festival and Minerama.

The school fosters high expectations and a culture of excellence, with dedicated teaching staff offering extra tuition through initiatives like Night Library and mentoring outside of school hours. Glen Innes High School supports the development of the whole student through opportunities in leadership, academics, sport, drama, music, and the visual arts. Specific Selection Criteria

- 1. Approval to teach Technology-Metal
- 2. Demonstrated capacity to work as a collaborative member of the TAS faculty and contribute towards the development of faculty programs and resources.
- 3. Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver quality differentiated teaching and learning programs which cater for the diverse learning needs and backgrounds of all students.
- 4. Capacity to implement effective classroom management strategies and ability to manage practical workspaces to create a classroom environment that is safe, engaging, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations.

Conditions

Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus will be paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.

A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
