About VincentCare Victoria
VincentCare Victoria is an award-winning organisation established to provide a range of accommodation and support services to people that are facing disadvantage throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria.
Our aspiration is to be the leader in providing care, hope and advocacy for those facing disadvantage. Our purpose is to create opportunities and lasting change for the most marginalised. VincentCare is well equipped to provide a continuum of services that effectively meet the needs of people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
About the role
Based at VincentCare’s Northern Community Hub, this dual role supports young people aged 17–25 who are linked with the youth justice system and are at risk of homelessness. The position combines responsibilities across the Youth Justice Community Support Services (YJCSS) and Youth Justice Homelessness Assistance (YJHA) programs.
You will work collaboratively with partner agencies to provide holistic, goal-focused case management through an outreach model, supporting young people to access safe housing, education, employment, and specialist services addressing issues such as mental health, substance use, family violence, and justice involvement.
As a Senior Case Manager, you will also lead complex casework, coordinate service responses, and provide operational leadership within the Youth Justice and Support Services Team, applying specialist knowledge and professional judgement to achieve positive outcomes for young people.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in social work, community services, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of client engagement, professional boundaries, and case planning.
- Knowledge of issues impacting young people involved with justice or at risk of homelessness.
- Experience working with and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
- Experience providing holistic, person-centred support for complex needs.
- Skilled in managing conflict, challenging behaviours, and program outcomes.
- Commitment to social justice, human rights, and trauma-informed practice.
- Culturally aware, organised, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and IT skills.
- Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
Why work with us?
- Salary packaging, sometimes called salary sacrificing is a huge attraction here It is a popular way of providing employees in the community sector with tax benefits over and above their salary. It means the real value of a salary package can be significantly higher than the nominal value.
- Leave entitlements include cultural (ceremonial) leave.
- Potential for flexible work arrangements.
- VincentCare has a Reconciliation Action Plan
- Employee Assistance Program
- We offer a workplace with a firm commitment to helping others.
- We are passionate about #SocialJustice.
