Description & Requirements
Australia Post is delivering for all Australians. From the vehicles that we drive, to the small businesses that make our communities thrive. We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and for our people. We’re removing forward and we want you to come along for the ride.
We’re hiring for a Senior Manager PPM Product Owner to lead the strategic direction and execution of our digital Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) platform and enterprise-wide delivery practices. This is a pivotal leadership role that combines visionary thinking with hands‑on delivery, driving the digitisation and uplift of frameworks and practices designed by the Enterprise Delivery Centre of Excellence (CoE).
You will be accountable for shaping and embedding new ways of working across the organisation, ensuring behavioural and cultural change that creates real business value. This role requires strong leadership to build and sustain a high‑performing team that collaborates effectively across the broader delivery community. You will engage with executive and GM leadership, multiple business unit PMOs, and a diverse network of practitioners and crafts to drive enterprise‑wide alignment and success.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of enterprise delivery by leading the strategic direction of our digital PPM platform, driving transformational change, and embedding best‑in‑class practices across a diverse and high‑performing delivery community.
What you’ll deliver with us
- Develop and articulate a clear product vision, strategy and roadmap for the digital Portfolio and Project Management platform (PPM), ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Provide vision for transformation and the PPM platform, as well as thought leadership and recommend options to improve project and enterprise delivery capability effectiveness, outcomes and operational efficiency standards.
- Lead the prioritisation of the backlog items, conducting business analysis, assessment of the confidence of effectiveness against strategy and sizing of the work packages.
- Lead PPM ‘transformation’ thinking, beyond delivering process and system change, incorporating uplifting, upskilling and changing the way Project, Program and Portfolio team members work. Building case for change, including benefits.
- As the program lead, this role is effectively a Program Manager and Product Owner. It is responsible for all aspects of program management including project financials, stakeholder engagement, delivering the agreed outcomes, and setting the delivery strategy and plan.
About You
You bring a wealth of experience, with at least five years in delivering senior Project Management Office (PMO) support across diverse and complex organisations. Your background includes managing and implementing project management frameworks, processes, and tools, complemented by exposure to product management principles. You have a strong understanding of governance, risk, and compliance within IT environments, as well as deep expertise in PMO activities such as status reporting, benefits tracking, and managing dependencies and sequencing. Known for your exceptional interpersonal skills, you communicate with clarity and impact, both verbally and in writing. Importantly, you have the ability to educate and influence senior leaders across the project and programme delivery landscape to achieve strategic outcomes.
You'll also bring
- SME knowledge of project management principles, practices, and frameworks (e.g., PMBOK, Prince2, Agile, Lean, Scrum).
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, Asana) and familiarity with project management information systems (PMIS).
- Exposure to product management concepts.

- Work‑Life Balance: We understand the importance of work‑life balance and offer flexible working arrangements to support your personal and professional needs.
- Employee Wellbeing: We prioritize the wellbeing of our employees, providing resources and support to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
