Competitive Salary: Band 6 - $101,833.74 p.a.+ 12% superannuation
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham and Peterson Youth Centre in Highett with the flexibility to work from home

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available to become part of Bayside’s Children and Youth Services team, reporting to the Children & Youth Coordinator.
The Youth Projects and Partnerships Officer will lead the design and delivery of innovative, evidence-based initiatives that respond to the needs and aspirations of young people in Bayside to optimise their wellbeing and resilience. Working in collaboration with schools, neighbouring councils, and community organisations, you’ll amplify youth voices, foster participation, and celebrate their achievements through strategic programs, events, and partnerships.
You will be responsible for:
- Consulting with young people to identify service gaps and priorities
- Coordinate the administration of the bi-annual Youth Resilience Survey to Bayside Primary and Secondary schools and develop and implement actions that respond to identified challenges
- Prepare and coordinate funding submissions and grant applications
- Design, Implement and deliver the bi-annual youth awards event
- Facilitate the Youth Ambassadors program to amplify the voices of young people in the decision-making processes and that young people build skills in leadership and lead community projects
- Developing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Actively contribute to team meetings and planning sessions by providing advice and information relevant to policy, systems and processes
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- A Bachelor qualification in Youth Work, Social Sciences, Community Development or related field is essential
- Strong skill building and maintaining partnerships across schools, councils and community or government agencies
- Excellent communication, and facilitation skills with the ability to support young people’s leadership and participation
- Proven ability to design, implement and evaluate evidence-based youth programs, projects and events, including large- scale recognition events
- Demonstrated experience in engaging and consulting with young people and stakeholders to inform service planning and decision-making
- Experience preparing and managing grant applications, funding submissions, reports and budgets
Mandatory pre-employment requirements:
- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
- A valid Victorian driver’s licence
