A Front of House/Food & Beverage Attendant is under the direction of Theatre Management and Supervisors, this role will perform such duties and functions as are necessary to ensure the smooth running of any performance or event. A Front of House/Food & Beverage Attendant will assist in creating and maintaining open lines of communication, enhance work practices and ensure a high percentage of repeat business by providing a superior level of customer service.
Operational Functions
Gain a full understanding of, and adhere to, all operations, policies and procedures.
- As requested, assist management in all aspects of their duties relating to theatre operations. This may include administrative duties when required.
- In consultation with managers ensure all reasonable needs are met from the perspective of the hirer, patron and theatre management.
- Monitor patron activity and theatre facilities to ensure the maximum safety and comfort of patrons and fellow staff.
- As directed, assist with the set up and pack down of the venue and the correct storage of all FOH equipment.
- When required, assist with tray service and sales throughout the venue.
- Ensure optimum levels of presentation, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in all FOH areas at all times. This includes light cleaning duties and, restocking bathrooms.
- Have an understanding of, adhere to, and assist with the implementation of State Theatre policies and procedures as detailed in any Staff Manual, Handbook or guidelines presented.
- Adhere to and undertake training in all required operational safety procedures.
- Take an active role in Workplace Health and Safety, reporting any relevant issues, and addressing such issues where possible.
- Perform any other duties and functions as requested by your managers including but not limited to Reception & Cloakroom duties
When working in the bars:
- Have a full understanding and certification in RSA and be pro-active in enforcing and monitoring all RSA issues.
- Be proactive in the pursuit of all sales opportunities and up sell theatre products where possible.
- Ensure optimum levels of presentation, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in all bars, fridges and storage areas.
Personal Responsibilities
- Maintain a harmonious working relationship with clients, colleagues and State Theatre management.
- Monitor and maintain a high level of pride, service team spirit and conduct within the State Theatre’s environment.
- Excellent communication skills, an ability to communicate with a variety of people from different nationalities, backgrounds and ages.
- Maintain a professional and confidential business manner at all times.
- Maintain an impeccable level of personal presentation and grooming at all times, adhering to appropriate dress requirements.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
- Possess a strong customer service focus
- Possess good time management skills and roster flexibility.
- Ability to take direction and work autonomously.
- Be available to attend training sessions as required.
