Overview

A well-established Australian investment fund is seeking a Senior Investment Analyst to join its investment team. The fund manages a diverse portfolio across asset classes, including listed equities, private equity, credit, and property. With a focus on long-term investing and a history of consistent returns, the firm offers exposure to investments that perform across economic cycles.

Responsibilities

- Evaluate new corporate credit and structured investment opportunities through bottom-up research and detailed due diligence
- Build and maintain complex financial models to assess credit quality, cash flow coverage, capital structure, and downside scenarios
- Prepare clear and commercially grounded investment papers for presentation to the investment committee and senior stakeholders
- Monitor portfolio company performance and identify emerging risks or opportunities for value creation or preservation
- Contribute to thematic research and market analysis to inform portfolio positioning and pipeline development
- Collaborate with external partners and internal stakeholders to support efficient execution and portfolio oversight

Qualifications

- 4–8 years of experience in credit analysis, investment banking, private credit, or principal investing
- Strong technical and financial modelling skills, with high proficiency in Excel (and ideally Bloomberg or CapIQ)
- Demonstrated ability to assess credit risk, interpret financial statements, and form independent investment views
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distil complex ideas into clear recommendations
- A proactive mindset, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to thrive in a lean, high-performance team environment
- Degree qualified in Finance, Economics, or a related field
