About the role

Jewish Care Victoria has vacancies for Permanent Full-Time or Part-Time Chef roles at our Residential Aged Care Home Caulfield In this role you will assist with the preparation of meals, maintaining the dining rooms and serving the residents in a respectful and collaborative environment. You will be joining a supportive dynamic team with a strong focus providing outstanding service.

You will be a great fit if you have:

- Certificate III or IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) and Food Handlers Certificate
- Previous experience as a Chef, preferably in the health care sector
- Experience ensuring all staff in the kitchen maintain safe food handling practices
- Experience and working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, special diet preparation and staff management
- Sound prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Experience in monitoring and developing staff including "on the job" coaching.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate resources efficiently, stock control, periodic maintenance schedules and maintenance of food services equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and 'can do' attitude
- Ability to identify and resolve problems
