Assistant Chief Medical Radiation Scientist (Radiographer Level 5 Grade 3)

About the Role

Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.

The Assistant Chief Medical Radiation Scientist's (MRS) key responsibilities are to support the Chief MRS in the day-to-day management of the Radiology Department and radiographic workforce resources including rostering, maintaining the payroll system, incident management, human resources management and daily workflow coordination.

Coordination of Radiology Equipment Preventative maintenance schedules and manage equipment breakdowns. Maintain appropriate documentation to meet EPA and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

- Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent, holder of NSW EPA Radiation Licence IA14 and current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

- Evidence of strong and empowering leadership skills, motivation and advocacy with sound ability in conflict resolution and staff performance management with flexible empathic and perceptive interpersonal and staff liaison skills.

- Possess detailed knowledge of a wide range of imaging modalities, equipment maintenance, picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) and procedures in Radiology including proven ability to instruct Radiographers and other health workers in techniques appropriate to the equipment being used and the procedures being performed.

- Experience and knowledge of computer literacy with Microsoft applications, Human Resources including Recruitment, Financial management applications, computerised rostering systems, Radiology Information and PACS and Incident Management systems.
