About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Strategic Surveillance delivery team based at Edinburgh Parks, SA.
This role is responsible for driving multiple teams of cross matrix resources and supporting functions, to deliver projects into both domestic and international markets.
The Project Manager needs to possess or develop a strong understanding of various contract approaches, and be able to demonstrate the ability, with support from the Senior Project Manager to navigate these effectively, in diverse international markets.
This role will require the application of Project Management principles to achieve desired outcomes within the cost, schedule and quality constraints while managing key deliverables.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivery of straightforward to complicated projects or a collection of discrete tasks with defined scope and of sufficient scale to require the application of project management disciplines
- Foster a positive collaborative culture between the key project stakeholders and the project team including the customer, sub-contractors and suppliers
- Support the Senior PM to lead the project team to ensure timely activity, integration and efficient use of time and resources to meet requirements
- Ensure all project requirements and/ or objectives are properly documented in a business case and/or project brief, as appropriate and vigorously pursued
- Support the establishment of appropriate key success indicators and recommend trade-offs between scope, quality, time and cost
- Establishment and maintenance of project management baseline through the application of strong earned value management and month end reporting
- Identify project opportunities and risks and develop mitigation strategies for pursuit throughout contract phases. Monitor and report on the status of risks and opportunities
- Ensure that products and services delivered as part of a project are in accordance with the Product Safety Policy and provide customer satisfaction
- Deputise for the Senior Project Manager as required, including at Customer and Senior Stakeholder Engagements.
About YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management (desirable but not essential)
- Demonstrated experience in project management on significant programs
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft office suite of programs
- Current NV1 defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
