Overview Rackley Swimming, part of City Venue Management, is seeking a Head Coach with the necessary experience and skills to establish a squad program that caters to swimmers of all abilities, from the junior squad up to national representative levels, as well as surf and fitness squad programs. This full-time position is located at the Kawana Waters Aquatic Centre in Queensland. The facility features a 10-lane, 50-meter pool, an 8-lane, 25-meter pool, and a teaching pool. The program caters to over 150 Squad swimmers and offers a learn-to-swim program with more than 1,500 students. Applications Close Sunday, 19th October. About the Role The Head Coach will design and deliver a comprehensive program to the squad swimmers. Key responsibilities include: - Program design and Implementation: planning, implementing, and evaluating training programs that address swimmers/' physiological and psychological needs across various skill levels. - Swimmer Development: foster a positive and supportive training environment, encourage swimmers/' progress, and facilitate a smooth transition between the Learn-to-Swim and Squad programs. - Teamwork and Collaboration: collaborate with the facility team and other staff to ensure consistency and high-quality coaching across all programs. - Community Engagement: promote club participation and encourage swimmers to participate in club activities, as well as local, state, and national competitions. - Communication: foster and maintain positive relationships with team members, swimmers, parents, and the broader community. - Commercial Skills: manage and allocate resources effectively, with a strong understanding of budget management and financial reporting. Demonstrates proficiency in using software for communication, reporting, and financial management. - Aquatics Coaching Professional Development: demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to seeking opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in aquatics coaching. About You You are a highly motivated and experienced leader with a passion for developing young athletes and inspiring teams. Your exceptional relationship-building skills enable you to forge strong, collaborative connections with swimmers, parents, Aquatic Centre staff, and the wider community. You possess outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities, which are essential for nurturing partnerships within the community to extend and grow the program. Your proven track record in developing comprehensive Squad programs across various skill levels, combined with your technical coaching expertise and relevant certifications, allows you to deliver innovative training that promotes athlete growth. You thrive in a team-oriented environment, with a natural ability to mentor and lead coaching staff while fostering a positive and supportive culture. Your strong organisational and business skills support resource management, budget oversight, and effective use of management software. Essential Qualifications - Swimming Australia Advanced Coach accreditation. - Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check). - Current First Aid and CPR certifications. - Current Pool Lifeguard certification. - Qualifications in Strength and Conditioning are desirable.
