Currently there is a vacancy for a full-time role for Printing Machinist.
Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare and calibrate printing presses digital, offset, flexographic, or large-format, for production runs.
• Operated and maintained offset, flexographic, and digital printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials including brochures, packaging, and promotional content.
• Load substrates and adjust feed mechanisms, ink levels, and print settings.
• Operate finishing equipment such as laminators, guillotines, and CNC routers.
• Mix and match inks to meet job specifications.
• Monitor ink flow, substrate tension, and drying systems during production.
• Handle a variety of materials including vinyl, acrylic, foam board, corflute, and paper stock.
• Conduct test prints and inspect output for clarity, alignment, and colour accuracy.
• Identify and correct print defects or machine errors.
• Maintain consistent quality across batch runs.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical or print-related issues.
• Report major faults to supervisors and assist with repairs when required.
• Prepared printing plates, blankets, and impression cylinders, ensuring alignment and precision.
• Monitored print runs for quality assurance, identifying and resolving mechanical or output issues.
• Interpret job sheets, artwork files, and production schedules.
• Record production data, machine settings, and maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with design, production, and installation teams to ensure job accuracy.
• Conducted routine maintenance and minor repairs on printing equipment to minimize downtime.
Relevant Qualifications:
• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications in printing or related fields are advantageous.
• Previous experience in a printing or manufacturing environment is a plus, but not mandatory.
Other Skills:
• Basic understanding of printing machine operations and equipment setup.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools for equipment adjustments and minor repairs.
• Carefully follow instructions, quality standards, and safety guidelines to support precise prints on flexible packaging materials.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Collaborate effectively with other team members to achieve production goals and maintain a positive work environment.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing production requirements.
• Comply with safety rules and regulations, prioritize safety in all tasks, and report any safety concerns promptly.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, attendance, and punctuality.
Salary - $75,000 Plus super
