At Displays 2 Go, we bring brands to life. Based in Artarmon, Sydney, we are a leading manufacturer of innovative display and exhibition solutions, helping businesses across Australia stand out in retail, events, and trade shows.
From custom retail displays to interactive exhibits, we fuse creativity with functionality. With an in-house design team and cutting-edge production facilities, we create work that is visually striking, impactful, and always unique.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for a talented and experienced Print Machinist to join our production team.
About the Role
This full-time role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience operating digital and/or traditional print machinery in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment. You'll play a key role in the setup, operation, and maintenance of our wide-format and commercial printing equipment, ensuring all jobs are completed to specification and to a high standard.
You'll work on a diverse range of print projects — from point-of-sale displays to exhibition graphics — and help bring our creative concepts to life through precision and attention to detail.
This role offers a competitive salary of AUD 70,000 – 80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and set up a variety of printing equipment, including large-format flatbed and roll-to-roll printers, ensuring accurate alignment, feed control, and ink flow based on each project's requirements.
Prepare and check materials such as vinyl, paper, and specialty substrates, loading them into machines and confirming quality before production runs.
Mix, match, and adjust inks to achieve colour accuracy and consistency across different surfaces and finishes.
Oversee print runs from start to finish, reviewing output against proofs and making on-the-fly adjustments to maintain Displays2Go's high quality standards.
Perform routine cleaning, calibration, and basic maintenance of machines, escalating technical faults to service technicians to minimise downtime.
Manage digital production files and RIP software, setting up jobs in print queues to ensure correct scaling, resolution, and finishing requirements.
Collaborate with the production and design teams to interpret job specifications, align on deadlines, and deliver signage and display products that meet client expectations.
Assist with post-print processes such as trimming, laminating, mounting, and finishing, supporting the wider production workflow.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone with:
A minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in print production or as a print machinist/operator.
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with large format or commercial print machinery.
Understanding of colour matching, substrate compatibility, and ink management.
A keen eye for detail, with a drive to produce high-quality, consistent print output.
Ability to read and interpret print job tickets, proofs, and layouts.
Comfortable with RIP software, digital print workflows, and working with both CMYK and spot colour systems.
Good time management and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
A collaborative, can-do attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
Formal trade qualifications in Printing or Graphic Pre-Press (e.g., Certificate III or above) are desirable but not essential if supported by industry experience.
What We Offer
A secure, full-time role with a dynamic and supportive team.
Opportunities to work on visually exciting, high-profile projects.
Access to state-of-the-art printing equipment and materials.
Professional growth in a company that values innovation and creativity.
Convenient location in Artarmon, with easy access to public transport.
