**The Team**

Delivery and Support Branch is responsible for leading the AEC’s preparation and delivery of electoral services and plays a key role in overseeing the delivery of election events, including federal elections, by-elections and referendums.

The branch initiates and implements bodies of work that includes tasking and supporting the agency in event preparation, managing electoral roll products and services for the AEC and third parties, the continuous improvement and modernisation of service delivery processes, management of significant election delivery projects and systems, and engagement with major suppliers and other key stakeholders.

Delivery and Support Branch (DSB) includes the following sections:

- Elector and Roll Services
- National Event Management
- Centre of Event Expertise
- Supply Chain Management

***The Opportunity**

Multiple opportunities exist and a merit pool will be established for other director opportunities within the branch and wider AEC. As a director within Delivery and Support Branch you will lead and manage a section, building and sustaining a positive culture across the team, branch and wider AEC, focussing on collaboration, professionalism and delivery. Your work will include setting the direction and plans for the work area in line with agency requirements and priorities and contributing to agency wide strategic planning.

The roles are responsible for undertaking work with a high level of complexity and/or sensitivity, utilising specialist, professional or technical knowledge and significant judgement to lead the development and delivery of BAU requirements in addition to large scale projects and strategies in relation to delivering an electoral event.

The positions include responsibility for procurements and contract management, collaboration and engagement across the AEC network to support the planning and delivery of event requirements, external stakeholder engagement, process and system design and support, project delivery, and involvement in legislative change and parliamentary requirements.

To excel you’ll have:

- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff while developing capabilities, encouraging career development, and demonstrating and promoting AEC values.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships, including across a geographically dispersed network, across all levels and with internal and external stakeholders, to achieve outcomes and represent the section and branch.
- Ability to operate within a dynamic and challenging environment, remain positive and respond to pressure and change in an agile and productive manner.
- Sound knowledge and experience in successfully managing and delivering results within tight time restraints and with competing priorities.
- Proven ability to lead the design and delivery of large-scale, user-focused and quality projects or tasks to achieve strategic goals.
- Ability to provide high level analysis of issues relating to election delivery and make significant contribution to the management, preparation and coordination of complex inputs to legislative or policy formulation and/or project management.
- Technical knowledge and experience in electoral legislation and operational requirements or the ability to quickly acquire it.
