21-Apr-2023- Geelong, VIC, AUBringing the iconic ales to the east of Australia, Little Creatures continues the tradition and best practice of keeping the thirst in our backyard quenched. As part of this, we are looking for a Laboratory Technical Officer.

In this newly created role, you will be the Subject Matter Expert for all analytical testing and equipment on-site and train our brewers as they rotate through the lab. You will be responsible for day-to-day laboratory testing (Sensory and Analytical testing) and have ownership of all things analytical on-site, as well as identify and implement continuous improvement activities.

This role will work across rotating morning and afternoon shifts Monday to Friday and will be based on site at the Little Creatures Brewery located in Geelong, VIC. This is a **permanent full-time opportunity.**

**Some of the skills you will bring**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organisation, time management and problem-solving skills
- Qualification in Science, Food Science or similar
- Experience gained in a laboratory or brewing environment
- Excellent technical skills and computer literacy

**Some of the things you will be doing**:

- Brewery-based projects, beer flavour assessment and QA product assessment
- Routine sampling* and monitoring of beer and beer ingredients
- Analysis and clearance on products as per Standard Operating Procedures
- Preparation of calibration standards and other laboratory reagents
- Liaise with production, logistics and supervisory staff regarding quality issues or clearance of products
- Maintain laboratory equipment and consumables
- Analytical instrumentation calibration and maintenance,
- Identify and implement continuous improvement activities
- Escalation and workplace problem solving as required
- Maintain quality records and results
- General Laboratory and Quality Assurance tasks
- Please note that as part of the role, you will be required to taste and sample beer produced by the brewery.
