**About the Role**

Based at the ASAP Veterinary Laboratory in Mulgrave, we are seeking a laboratory assistant to join our dynamic team in our specialised genetic testing department in a Parttime to Fulltime capacity.

Reporting to the Specimen Reception Team Leader, your duties will include sorting, processing, and accessioning pathology specimens, and data entry. Other tasks may include operating laboratory equipment for DNA extraction and non-invasive prenatal screening test setup, equipment maintenance and pipette calibration.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Support data entry of Urgent laboratory submission forms is entered accurately and within a timely manner.
- Answer phone calls
- Issue test results to vet’s/vet’s staff/veterinary staff via telephone inquiry.
- To fax or report release results as specified via a telephone request and or fax requests
- Action where applicable complaints from referrers, clients and if escalated to the appropriate people if required
- Enter complaints into Q-Pulse
- Support dispatch for courier pickups and coordinating supply orders for clients in a timely manner.
- Support invoicing/ordering tasks

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will be a self-motivated people leader with excellent interpersonal skills. You will also demonstrate:

- Previous experience in an administration role
- Previous experience in the Veterinary industry (not essential but considered advantageous)
- Time Management
- Able to summarise information and required actions into simple concise terms that others can understand
